Art and rock climbing have been the two driving forces of Phil Bircheff’s life from an early age. He has been creating and selling unique and startling works of art since growing up in Los Gatos, California.  After traveling to Pietrasanta, Italy to study as a sculptor, Phil Bircheff lived in Yosemite Valley and became the first to climb many popular and challenging climbing routes including Lurking Fear on El Captain.  Throughout his continuing climbing career Bircheff has helped shape climbing destinations throughout the United States and abroad.  Today, Bircheff travels between the rock climbing meccas of Lone Pine, Joshua Tree, and Bishop.  When not climbing Bircheff finds time to create mythical sculptures and carving beautiful stone bowls and display them in gallery events across the southwest.
